Taylor Swift may be a confident country star NOW but she wasn’t always that way. She faced normal insecurities that all teen and tween girls go through. “In school I hated my hair,” she shared with Sugar, “My first boyfriend would make subtle suggestions, like, ‘I love your hair straight – you should do that more often.’ So I’d straighten it all the time.” Eventually though, Taylor realized she didn’t WANT to change for a boy! “It hit me that I didn’t want to be the version of myself that he approved of, so I had to end it.” Way to go, Taylor! That’s just ONE of the reasons you’re such an amazing role model!
