Emma Watson Defends Kristen Stewart

Last summer, it seemed like the whole world turned against Twilight star Kristen Stewart when news broke that she cheated on her famous boyfriend and costar Rob Pattinson. Well, it wasn’t the whole world. Emma Watson was on K-Stew’s side! She defended Kristen in her recent Vanity Fair Italy interview.

“Those who criticized her are the same people that think that being rich and famous is like being covered in some kind of magic powder that makes life perfect: Nothing can go wrong in your wonderful world,” Emma said. “For these people, Kristen deserves all the bad things that have been thrown at her because she had an amazing life and she ruined it….I don’t know how to explain it, but it sure isn’t perfect. I thought that the media picked on her in a very horrible way. Kristen is human, just like everybody else, and she’s so young. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone. It’s not fair to consider them matters of public interest. On one hand, I can understand why it happened: people felt really involved in her relationship with Robert Pattinson. But it’s also true that they both have done everything in their power to keep their relationship as far from the public eye as possible.”

What do you think? Were people too hard on Kristen, like Emma said, or should celebrities expect that kind of attention as part of their job? Sound off in the comments and on Twitter!

  4. maybe because they don’t like her and are jealous that’s she was going out with rob., so you should know critical people are, they just don’t care anymore about peoples feelings, all they care about is themselfs.
