Before she starred in mega-hits like The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence got her start on the small screen – doing a series of commercials for MTV’s series My Super Sweet 16. In the commercials, she played a bratty teen named “Lisa” who has a big, over-the-top birthday bash that goes all wrong. Last night, at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, Jen thanked MTV for giving her her first real acting job.

“I want to thank MTV. I’ll explain that. I earned my SAG card when I was 14, I did an MTV promo for My Super Sweet 16. And I remember getting it in the mail and it being the best day in my entire life, because it officially made me a professional actor,” she said in her acceptance speech. We love that Jen isn’t embarrassed of her first job – even if it did involve being splattered with cake.
