It’s always sad when a super-cute celebrity couple breaks up. This year, three famous couples split up… and it was totally sad! We’re recapping the three most jaw-dropping splits that shocked the world this year.

Directioners’ jaws were on the ground when Payzer, also known as Liam Payne and Danielle Peazer, ended their relationship. These British sweethearts dated for just about two years before calling it quits in September. In happy news, these two got back together in December. Only time will tell if these two will last forever, but we’re happy they’re back in love (for right now!).

We thought Jelena might last forever… until they didn’t. After months of rumors, the world learned that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were officially over in November. Rumor has it these two slowly drifted apart because of their busy schedules. Gossipers still speculate that this couple may get back together someday soon, but the pair haven’t been photographed looking lovey-dovey for a couple weeks now.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart found love on the Twilight set, but their romance went away in July when photographs surfaced of Kristen kissing another boy. Just days after she was caught cheating, K Stew wrote a public apology letter to Rob. In it, she said, “I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.” Her apology worked! Within a few weeks, the two former costars were back together. While they’ve never been public about their love, sources say they’re happier than ever.
