Carly Rae Jepsen: “I Don’t Need to be a Superstar!”

When her song “Call Me Maybe” became the hit of the summer, Carly Rae Jepsen became an international superstar overnight. Her popularity has only increased with the release of two new singles, but Carly admits her choice to sing never had anything to do with achieving mega-fame. That’s not even her biggest priority for her music!

“For me, the goal of music has never been ‘I need to be the biggest superstar in the world’,” Carly spilled. “It was ‘I want to spend my life doing this, and I want to make a career I can live off of so I don’t have to tend bar and waitress to make this fly’.”

Even if she doesn’t need so much international stardom, Carly is determined to not be a one-hit wonder. “I don’t want to be Cinderella for a night,” she said. “I want to be Cinderella for a lifetime.”
