Will Taylor Swift Break a Record with Red?

Taylor Swift‘s new album Red just came out yesterday, and not only does it prove to be everything we anticipated, but it might put Tay on the path towards a world record never held by any other musician in history!

According to Hits Daily Double, Red is on target for a potential platinum debut week! If Tay’s album sales hit the million mark by the end of the week, she could be the first artist to have two consecutive albums do so in a DECADE. As exciting as the possibility of this accomplishment can be, this isn’t the only thing Taylor’s achieved with the debut of Red.

In just six years on the charts, Taylor is the fifth woman to notch 50 songs on the Billboard‘s Hot 100. Not only can she write popular hits and act totally humble about all her success, but she’s also making history in the music industry!

Have you listened to Red yet? Do you think Taylor will be the first artist with two straight albums selling over a million copies in the first week? Tell us in the comments and on Twitter!
