The quietest, shyest and most intense member of 1D, Zayn admits that he was a troublesome teen growing up in his hometown of Bratford, England. His ‘tude nearly cost him his spot in One Direction, because even though he impressed the judges with his version of Mario’s Let Me Love You at the auditions, he refused to dance on stage during the Bootcamp part of the show. Simon Cowell had faith in him though, and went backstage to convince him to give it a try. He’s the most likely member of the band to get homesick, and says that he’s constantly on the phone to his mum. Bless! Zayn says he loves smarts in a girl, and was planning to become a Science teacher is he hadn’t become a member of 1D.
